Reunion Update #4 July 5, 2023

Hope Everyone had a GREAT 4th of July. I am leaving Update #3 below for future reference. Just a Couple of Updates:

1. We need Volunteers. Please Contact Madonna Dowd Piper via e-mail.

3. If the "spirit moves you," also upload a video updating the last 50 yrs.

Reunion Update #3 May 2, 2023

Golf Outing Update: Friday Oct 13 10:00 AM

Thanks to Phil Vaccarello for doing a superb job of organizing! The event will be a "scramble" at White Pines Golf Club - East Course (https://www.whitepinesgolf.com) in Bensenville, Friday 10/13 at 10:00 AM. Cost is $41, which includes a cart.

Scramble is co-ed, (so far Lori Rowells and Madonna are the only ladies that are "IN"), Spouses are welcome. For out of towners who don't want to schlep their clubs, rentals are $35 for new sets, and $25 for used. Bring $5 extra cash for the 5 closest to pin holes, We are suggesting that players stuff their beverages inside their golf bag, but bring a cooler with water & ice.

School Tour Update: Friday Oct 13 4:30 PM

Thanks again to Phil Vaccarello for organizing. Here are the details: School tour is @4:30 at MW main entrance off of Wolf Rd, John Aldworth, Vice- Principal of Student Affairs, will be conducting tour.

Go to "Maine West Athletics" website for MW attire---we're encouraging those attending the Beacon event Fri to don their "blue gold & white"! The Walgreens on corner of Oakton & River also has a MW swag rack...tees, hoodies, hats, etc.

Friday Night at the Beacon Tap: Friday Oct 13 6 PM

"Friday night at the Beacon" will start at 6:00 PM. Cost will be $30 for unlimited pizza, wine, beer and soft drinks from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. We are hoping to have Al Vaccarello's duo, Blue Eyed Leo as entertainment in the main bar, as well as an open mic "sing along" with Phil Vaccarello in our "reserved" space.

Des Plaines Theater Tour: Saturday Oct 14 1PM

Eileen Branda Pazdra has organized a free 30 minute tour of the newly remodeled Des Plaines Theater at 1:00 PM on Saturday.

Elks Club Main Event: Saturday Oct 14 6PM

Event will be 6:00 PM until "The Midnight Hour." Heavy Hors D' Oeuvres throughout the evening. Class of '68 live band, Cash Bar. $50 for the whole evening.

Hotel Accommodations

Best Western is offering a special rate of $100 / night plus tax per night. Call Selma at 847 297 2100 to reserve your rooms. There is a two night minimum. Please mention the Maine West Class of '73 Reunion.
